I am new to the hobby. I recently bought a used Blade CP. The problem is that the motor doesn't get enough speed for the heli to hover. I flipped the idle up lever just for good measure and noticed that the motor speed increased drastically. It has new blades and all the gears look good. The battery was fully charged. Any suggestions?

You may want to check to make sure that you have enough positive pitch in your blades. The manual that came with it should have pictures detailing it.
What blades are you using?
What pinion is on the motor?

Next you should try the the liPO. Be sure that all your servos are centered and the links are 90 degress. I had to rotate my servos like tires to get mine to line up.

The one thing the book does not tell you to do is that in normal flite mode you have to use you trim. Try your trim for throttle at or close to center. If your pitch, portional, and gain are close this will give you something to work with. When i went to LIPO I hade to turn my gain for the gyro down a good bit, along with the portional. The trim now like to be 4 or 5 clicks off center. So when you switch to idle up mode your trim has be set to center or a couple of clicks up or down from center. Either way once the blade arms you should move the trim to center then bring the main throttle up. Let me Know if this helps or you already knew this? So I can help you if you still need it.
