can anyone help me out? i just put my fury back together after a crash. i up graded to all digital servos 3 9252's, 1 9253, and 1 jr811. i am using a gy401. it had a 27" boom, now 31.5", it had 680 main carbon blades now has 690 blads. are the 690 blade to long for the YS61st or should i up grade to an 11 tooth pion and a YS80ST? With the 60 in it i have no tail control no matter what i dial the delay to 0-100. i think the head speed is high enough and i did check the gyor by putting a new gyor to make sure that it was not the gyro. what should i do?

Could you please elaborate on what you mean by no gyro control?

Hi. my name is Alex and i am new to this forum. I am sorry for not introducing my self at first. Hi to all out there. and thanks for any ideas you all have.
what i mean is that when i spool up the main rotor to lift off the heli wants to go to the right, but when i put in left control it wants to go to the left and continue to go left. it's like the heading lock is not holding in one direction. normally when i take off, i will have the tail toward me, but it wont stay that way when i take off. heres the thing, it does not have any kind of tail wagging. it just is'nt compinsating for the torque and i do have a solid red light on the gyro. radio used is a jr8103.
in short it spins out of control during take off in either dirction. the same is true when heading lock is turned off.

Two things come to mind. Mechanical setup and gain.
To get the mechanical setup correct, dial out any trim and sub-trim you may have in the rudder channel. Disconnect the pusrod from the servo arm and position the servo output arm so that it's as close to 90 degrees from the pushrod as you can get. Manually move the tail rotor pushrod and measure how much movement it takes to move the tail rotor pitch control from stop to stop. This distance is how far out from center on the servo arm you'll want to attach the pushrod.
The Futaba gyro will sense neutral, so no sub-trim is necessary. Next make sure you begin with a gain (in both modes around 75%). This is done by adjusting the channel you have the gyro's remote gain lead plugged into. One side of center is the gain in rate mode, the other side of center is the gain in heading hold mode. The further away from center, the higher the gain. So 50% position is no gain, 25% position is 50% gain in rate mode and 75% is 50% gain in heading hold mode.
Try that and let us know how you make out.

I wanted to elaborate on CB's post...On and 8103, and if you're hooked into say the gear channel for the gyro gain (come to think of it, I don't remember if it's got a gyro function :o I don't have it in front of me) +1-+100% will be HH mode and 0- -100% on the end point will be rate mode. What I use is the AUX2 channel and put the gain on the dial on the 8103. That way you can make gain settings on the fly to the gyro.
It seems there's been a lot of gyro questions lately. I'm sensing another gyro article!

thanks. i'll try this and get back to you. oh. does having 690 blades make any differants with a YS61? I also switched for PPM to SPCM and had to make change to my trims.

I like to thank everyone who was able to give me the help i needed to get my heli back in the air. when i switch over from ppm to spcm and had to switch the gyro from reverse to normal. and that did the trick. i had no idea that going from ppm to spcm the controls had to be switch from reverse to normal. if flies great, but i have vibes that i am going to hammer out.
