I was wondering which one is best for my machine, which is a Kyosho Caliber 5 with an OS SX50H. I have been running Wildcat 30%.since I flew .30 size choppers. Seems that my new .50 size engine dose not run as smooth in the idel. I have gone over evrything but fuels. Wonder if my .50 engine might like another brand a little better? like Cool Power . Has anybody used both and have a choice, or do you think all the same???

The only big difference between Wildcat & Cool Power is the Wildcat heli mix has 1% more oil in it than Cool Power (18% vs. 17%). They're both made by Morgan Fuels. The Cool Power heli mix and plane mix are no different from each other. I read that on HeliProz website and they say they got the info straight from Morgan Fuels. I use Wildcat just for that 1% peace of mind. I have an O.S. 50 Hyper. Make sure you stay away from anything with a castor-based oil unless you like to polish your muffler a lot. It'll stain.

I am new to this so please pardon my ingnorance.. :-)
I got a Sceadu .30 which I bought used, but it's got a new OS .32sx.. I started it with the 2 1/2 initial turns on the needle like the manual said. It started right away from the first crank. I let it idle for a while so it warmed up. After couple of adjustments on the needle I got it to full RPM. It seems to bug down and loose power at high RPM. It won't jave enough power to lift the helicopter of the ground.
My question is that I noticed that the fuel I bought was 15%, Cool power (blue Morgan Fuel); but then I notied the darn 4CYCLE Engine sticker on its side!
This is the wrong fuel for the .32... right? Would this prevent full power on the engine.. Probably too much oil....
Thanks for your time..

I'm not completely sure, but 2-4 cycle shouldn't matter. They usually say that it's compatible with 4 cycle, but it's probably not exclusively for 4 cycle.
If it's bogging at high power, there's one of two things wrong or both: If you've got a LOT of smoke at high RPM, you could try leaning it some. Go a couple of clicks at a time. OR your throttle curve just isn't giving it enough throttle at full collective.
As far as too much oil, 15% Cool power is 17% oil, I run Wildcat 15% (also made by Morgan) which is 18% oil. That's not the problem. Cool Power is good fuel. Fuel is probably not the problem unless it's old.
I hate engine tuning. In my opinion, it's the worst part of nitro but it's sooooo cool to hear them little suckers run!

Wow!! I have never messed with a 4 stroke model engine, but being a ceritified Small engine mechanic ( South County Tech 1982) All trhe 4 strokes I have worked on all had oil sumps in them, but the little model engines I guess do not? However I know that they do have more moving parts (Intake and exhaust valves and on some push rods and cams) then a 2 stroke. I would think this means that lubracation needs to be a little more excessive. If an engine dose not get proper lubracation it will most certinly seize up. Ideling could not happen! Check that your muffler is tight, Back pressure is a must with these small 2 stoke engines. Also check that your glow plug is in tight as well as the cylinder head bolts. These are the most common things that are related to what you describe. if you do find something loose , do not forget to use blue locktite!!! Oh, also check fule tank pressure hose as well as all other fule hoses.

Thaks for the help guys.
Rotoboy: sorry I wasn't clear, but the (4cycle) sticker was on the fuel bottle. The OS-.32sx is a two stroke engine.
I found the MIKE MASS article on engine tunning and rigging. .I will give it a try to see of it helps.
Lets see...
Thanks

You are right, you can read on the Morgan Fuel's web site that the plane and heli 15% are the same:
http://www.morganfuel.com/cp_faq.htm#8
However, the plane and heli 30% are different, heli has more lube, 22%, and a lower viscosity.
Personally I run 30% CP Heli, I like the extra power and I get a lot better idle.

Dont forget the other choice. Magnum 30% is very inexpensive and runs absolutely great. I used Coolpower before, but was able to save over 5 bucks a gallon when we went to Magnum as a club. We have been running it for a year and no complaints at all, about to order another pallet shortly :) Really, you cant go wrong with any of the major heli fuels anymore, all really good stuff. Also, Powermaster is good stuff too.

No!, you were very clear! I was making an observation on the 4 Stroke fule you got. I was just thinking that it was not the fule that was the problem, but it for sure has more oil in it :D

Now that's what I was looking for!!!! Better Idel! I guess I will get me some of that Cooll power.
Thanks For the info

Not so sure if it's just the Cool Power, or if it is the 30% Nitro... probably the Nitro but CP is the only thing I have used in my Helis.

I'm already running Wildcat 30% in my chopper, so I will try Cool Power.

I have a OS .32 in my Sceado 30 and my manual has factory high speed needle settings at 1-1/2 turns. My heli will not get off the ground with that setting. I leaned about four clicks from factory setting and running great.

Thanks viperman....
How did you set you pitch/throtle curve.....
How also did you set up your tail rotor linkage; I got the CSM heading lock gyro (upside down).
I would apretiate your help....
Thanks
