venom radio question

My other two models are 2 hours away and still in the box. Because that is where I will fly them the most. My question is my vnr2 model finally came in the mail after being backordered. When I took the radio out of the box and am pushing the sticks, the right one returns to center when you push it left and right and up and down, but the left stick only returns to center after pushing it left and right, whe you push it up and down it stays in the position that you left it in. is this normal or is it broken. I feel like such a newb. and to tdswan that you for all your input you have helped me out alot. My local radioshack is now carrying full lines of rc cars, planes, and helis. And there is even a local club starting up and a new field has opened. so maybe I won't have to travel 2 hours to my mom's to fly.

Well, kind words, thank you. I'm glad I can help. I LOVE this hobby and absolutely love to be a help. The left stick IS supposed to stay where you put it. It will center left to right, but not up and down. Having this stick center would make it hard to hover. It's the one that controls the collective (heli straight up and down) while left to right on the left stick controls the rudder which you want to center when you're not pushing it.
