I am looking to buy a new electric heli. My local Hobby shop does not support the Helimax MX Pro. It does however support the T Rex. I haven't flown in over 10 years, so I bought a Cool little Blade CX to get back stick feel. I was going to buy a Sim, however I only a lap top so I lack video power.
Personally I like the Aluminum Stack Frame of the MX 400 Pro. I come from an RC Car back ground and I know that Aluminum is great for heat dissapation, a little better for stiffness than plastic.
I've always like to be and have a bit different, however, I don't want it to cost me this time.
So I'm looking for different opinions.

I would appreciate it.

Thanks

I'm still a newb to rc helis, but from I've read around the net, parts support for the t-rex is far greater than other electric helis. After you crash, you're going to need parts, so I tend to consider that in my buying decisions.

Hey BMX papa,

Found a site that compares the T-Rex and the X400. The site is http://www.trextuning.com/x400-vs-trex.php. Hope this helps. If you decide on the X400 there is another site that covers all aspects of the heli such as building, upgrades, programming, etc. That site is http://www.x400tuning.com/. Both sites refer to the X400 which I believe is an older version of the MX400 but the info on the sites are still very helpfull.

the X400 was originally sold by ARK. The newer version, the MX400, is the same design, sold by helimax (great planes) with some improvements to certain parts.

I have the MX400 and love it. I work at the local hobbystore. A few guys that come in have t-rex's. We have about fifty-fifty customers with them. I suggest go to your local hobby shop and see what parts they carry the most of and make your decsion based on that. you can also get the G3 simulator. it has a expansion pack that has the MX400 in it and you can fly it and practice with it.
