I just can't make up my mind on which one to get. I have never flown a copper, so I'm up for the learning, but want to be able to grow in the sport.

My thought has been get the CX learn the basics of being in air then jump into a 30 or 50, and have the CX to play with on days I can't fly outside.

Thanks Guys...

Hey RU...

I have 11 helis total, 3 BCPs and 1 BCX. I originally bought the CX because I wanted to try to get my wife into flying. Well, I unboxed it and charged up... then I flew it. Let's just say my wife does not get much stick time! It is just too much fun to buzz around the living room.

I can tell you this. The Blade CP will definitely let you grow more and on top of that, prepare you for a larger CP heli. The CP can be a handful, especially if you are just learning but I have successfully "trained" 3 friends on the CP with only a few minor mishaps. The CP is a very capable little heli for what it is: an ARF that is reasonably priced. Throw an AEK and lipos on it and it will do some 3D when you are ready. Can't beat that combo!

The CX is nice, but for me it is more of a novelty. Now keep in mind thatI already knew how to fly and was comfortable with oreientation already. I only wish I had a CX when I was trying to learn nose-in. My life and wallet would have been less strained!!

I would put it like this: If budget is not a concern, start with a CX and buy a CP or larger when you feel ready (which won't be long). If you are looking to make an initial purchase that you can really grow into without having any plans for another heli in the immediate future, I'd say go CP. The initial investment is manageable and if you decide that you hate helis and don't want to move forward, or if you dump it into a lake and never see it again, not much is lost : )

Hope this helps!

Stack I could not have said it better.
My son (12 years old) started 2 weeks ago with his first heli, Blade CX. He put umpteen packs thru it and decided he was bored and wanted my old CP. So being the proud papa I said ok and gave it to him. he slid around on the training gear last night during his first battery. During the second battery he actually had it up in the air for brief moments trying to hover it and was doing ok but would get anxious and set it back down. I was proud!! So long story short, he did learn something from the CX but even he said if he had to do it over again he would have got the CP in the beginning.

I agree, go with the CP. You'll get bored with the CX real fast.

Yeah... get the CP :)

I hear you Axis... I can't wait for my daughter to be old enough to get into this hobby (hopefully!) haha

Congrats to your son on his heli skills!

Thanks everyone for your comments...

I picked up a CP today and got the training gear! I'm looking forward to growing in the sport.
