I currently have the night ranger 2 and the ef sabre for my son. I was thinking about using lipo batteries, but I don't know much about them. My main question is can they be used on micro heli, if so does the heli itself need any upgrades. and last but not least what size lipo would work for these helis. Thank you in advance for any any advice given. My local hobby is 2 hours away so I either have to make a day of it for the trip or order online.

I'm not really positive about the electronics in either of those heli's but, I have a Blade CP that we use a 3 cell 1320mah battery and I love it. Flight times are forever and the power is all there as well. I would find out what my electronics can handle and go from there. Just remember you'll need a LiPo charger for the batteries.

Hey looneyboy, sorry to hijack your thread but I have a question that could benefit the both of us and I thing it would be better to save some space and just ask it here. Are lipo batts interchangeable between helis or no? Since I’m getting a few lipo’s in a trade I want to keep1 or 2 for my t-rex, but only if they would work.

List what ya got or are getting and we can tell you. In answer to your question yes. If applicable (as in mah, voltage,c rating, etc.) they are interchangeable.

Lipo's interchangable?

Yes and no. I have a CP and Trex both on Li Pos

1320 for CP and 2100 for Trex. The biggest thing would be the connectors. On the CP you have JST connectors i think they are called. On the Trex you are goign to run a much thicker wire and connector. Most people use Deans connectors on thier Trex, thus they would not be interchangable. Unless you really like to solder ALOT. Speaking of batteries, and im no vendor of any sort. You will get what you pay for. I have tried 4 or 5 different batteries and there are huge differences. I only use Thunder Power batteries now. You will see longer flight times, more power, less weight. Again im no vendor, im just like everyone else out there.. I want more my hard earned dollar to be spent on the right product ONE time, and one time only. Instead of buying junk and replacing it inside of a week or month.

hope this helps

I would have to concure to the "you get what you pay for". My buddy let me use his Thunder Power in my CP and I gotta tell you, I had a BLAST. I was flying for about 15-16 mins before I set it back down. When we got back to the charger the TP Lipos STILL had plenty of charge in them. I probably could of flew for another 6 mins, but didn't want to risk draining the lipos completly (which will ruin them)
