I realize I'm getting WAY ahead of myself but.....eventually I'd like to get a nitro heli, probably a .50 or so. Anybody got favorites? Call me crazy but I was thinking I'd like to put an Airwolf together someday.

you can't go wrong with the proven favorites. the Thunder Tiger Raptor, Hirobo Sceadu, Kyosho Caliber, Century Hawk/Raven, and JR helis and there are many good ones from new companies, the Audacity Pantera, Gohbee Stinger, and Compass Knight. The most important thing is parts supprot and local help. If all the local guys fly Sceadus and you want their help, you will be better off getting what they are used to. If you go your own route just make sure you go with a reputable company that can support you. :D

Ok Crazy. LoL

As always, Aaron always gives great insight to what's good.

I'm sure everybody will tell you to buy a Raptor besides myself. I'll tell you to buy what you like, not what everybody else likes.

Just so you know, I started with a 30sized nitro. then went to the micro heli then to a bigger micro, then to my 50 and now I'm saving money for a 90 this spring, also I have a Spektrum module on order through my LHS.

Thanks guys! In the process of researching.....I'm eyeballing the Raptor 50's. What's the difference between the SE, V2 and the Titan? Also, Cuzz you got a Futaba 9 series adio s tatright? D you know if e Spekum DSM2 is going to work with my 7CHP?

I have been researching since last summer on what to get and last week I ordered a Raptor Titan. Should be here any day now.

The difference is: The Titan is the replacement for the V2 and the SE is a V2 with some metal parts (bling). I don't think you can buy a new V2 anymore, but I could be wrong. Everyone here and my LHS said the SE was not worth it for a beginner as the improvements on the Titan are better than the metal on the SE.

Jason K is my favorite pro pilot.
I feel that they should show a beginner flying a new heli to test how well they crash. LoL

That's awesome they have a nitro model out.

Yes, crazy, I have a 9chp with a synthesized module.
I can't say for sure, but if you have a module you can remove from the back of your TX, I don't see why it wouldn't work. You'd have to check with the manufacturer to be certain that it's compatible with the 7c.

As for all those Raptor version helis listed above, they all fly balls to the wall, as long as they're properly set-up. I still feel my C-5 is a bit more crisp on the controls with the 120 deg. eccpm swash setting as I've flown all of the above.

The problem I see with the Trex is the price, unless the nitro model is cheaper than its electric brother.

we don't know any specifics (yet) on when the N5, nitro 600 or whatever they are going to call it will be released.

as far as using your 7CAP with a spectrum module... the 7C has no module, but it may work with the one made for the 12 and 14 MZ, those plug into the trainer jack, but I really don't know if that will work on the 7C as well.

I found a new Raptor 50 Titan upgraded with thunder tiger aluminum frame posts & quick UK main shaft & collar for $325.00. Is that a good price for this heli?

There must be something wrong with my Titan because it does not do any of those maneuvers and I know it can't be my lack of piloting skills.
