Hello all,

I was wondering what the best motor choice was for a shogun lugging around an Airwolf body. I will be doing some 3D after the body is removed once the nostalgia wears of. I know a Trex would be a better choice, but $100.00 for the airframe, I couldn't pass it up.

Thanks
Bill

Just about anything 2800 KV or more for the motor. If you're going to do some 3D, go with something a little bigger yet, like in the 3100KV range or more.

Well I have a Park 370 5400 kv and a 3600 kv but they are short cans and about 4 AXI 2808's but they are to fat. I need to get something else I belive.

WOW, 5400kV I couldn't imagine using a motor that big on a shogun. Do they even fit? What are those motors out of?

The other you've got as long as they fit should work fine. 3600 would still be overpowered, but you can always throttle it back.

Here is the Park 3600 kv (http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=EFLM1010)

And the Park 5400 KV (http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=EFLM1005)

That 5400kV motor says it only recommends a 2 cell lipo. I see no reason why the other one wouldn't work, except it doesn't look like it's got the correct mounting holes for a heli. It may just be the picture. I'm no expert on brushless motors.

Let us know how she works!

I would try a Hacker B20-15L.
