I am planning on buying a good starter heli like a blade cp or something along those lines. One day I might want to upgrade to soemthing nicer like a t-rex, but will I have to go out and buy a new gyro, esc, motor, servos, tx/rx? Thanks

Save up your money and buy the T-Rex instead. You'll be MUCH happier! You'll only have to buy once. I have both and wish I hadn't wasted the money on the Blade.

 This is an issue that is questionable as to where to start. On one hand I can agree that a T-rex is the way to go from the start looking back on the money I have spent.... However if I had not started out with a cheaper copter, I might have been more frustrated with a more complex one. My progression has been a Walkera 4 from E-bay $74.00 S&L included, a second hand Blade CP $90.00 from a friend at a hobby store that had one returned and couldnt resell it as new, and finally I am saving for a Trex SE now. While it is easy to say "buy a T-rex to start" I have to remember back when the Walkera was a complete handful, and more than enough to start with. The Walkera Tx works well with ClearView's simulator as well. My sugg  estion would be get some simulator time in first if your first copter will be a T-rex.

 Looking back I may not have answered your question. Yes you will need a new radio, servos(if not included in the radio), a receiver(if not included with the radio), a gyro, Li-Po battery, charger for the battery, an electronic speed controler(esc), and motor(both motor and esc are included with some T-rex's)

Thanks for the answering my question. It is pretty easy for someone just to say go buy a t-rex, but a heli of that sort would be a pretty big expense. I can go out and buy a savage for 450 bux and that’s fine, but something almost double that is half the size is hard for me. Mind you, I have never never touched a heli before; if I were to buy a t-rex and really crash it good I would probably never touch a heli again. If you ask me, its all about baby steps. :p

To be perfectly honest if you've never flown I would say get a sim or the blade cx. I'm new to this to and got very comfortable after the sim and cx.
