I was thinking about fabricating a plastic vertical tail wing to attach to my CP. Does anyone know if this will have any adverse effects on how it flies?? Or does anybody have any other mod suggestions they would like to share?

It probably won't hurt it much. Make sure it's light, though. The CG on a heli that small is sure to be affected. Probably nothing a little trim can't take out.

I’m cutting the fin using a plastic plate and gluing it to a coffee stirrer cut to size. I would then slide the stirrer over the existing strut with just a drop of CA at the top. I figure I’ll give it a test flight and if anything I can always cut away at the CA to remove it.

I cut a vertical and a horizontal stab for mine from .030 carbon. No adverse affects. Of course it as purely a "looks" item.

Eflite has a vertical tail fin replacement. I bought one the other day at my LHS. Cost $1.50. It's a replacement rod for the tail, but comes with a fin as well.

I saw that one too, I think I might get one. It would also be great if they had some sort of support struts for the tail boom. It seems like in the event of a hard landing all of the force is going straight to the boom/body joint.
