Hey all!
I'll be leaving tomorrow around noon for sin city with......my wife :( . The last time I was there was on a bachelor party about 5 years ago, so hopefully the warrants have expired. ;)
I'll be taking the laptop, so as long as the hotel has network access, I'll be able to check up on the forums and e-mail. I would imagine that Bally's would have wireless.

Wish me luck! The Roulette tables are calling my name....again. :D

I tried to move it back to February for the Vegas fun-fly, but the wife frowned on that!

I've given that some thought. It would be pretty cool. The price wasn't too bad, either from what I researched. I don't know if I trust those whirly-birds, though  . Those things are dangerous! LOL :p

Laid over in Milwaukee, I'll keep you guys posted.....if you care. :(

It's quite a sight flying into Vegas at night!
I'll post pictures possibly as the days go by.

td i don't know if you've been there before but besides a heli ride
another cool view is going to the platform at the top of
the stratosphere. i' m not to big on the rides up there though.

tdswan
01-19-2007, 04:53 PM
Oh yes, I've ridden the "Big Shot" up there the last time I was there. It's my wife's first time in Vegas and my 4th. Thanks for the idea, though. My first time on the Stratosphere was quite humorous because I'm terrified of heights. I almost dropped to my knees when I first got off that elevator up there. It took me about 20 minutes to get used to it, then we went ON THE ROOF for the ride.
We're probabably going to visit Hoover Dam today, but haven't discussed plans with the wife yet. We just got up at 11:30 our time, 9:30 here.

Just got back home. I arrived at CWA (airport) at around 10:00 this morning. Made the rounds to pick up the truck and the kid and I'm now waiting for the house to warm up. We had it set at 50, so the whole house is a walk-in cooler right now.

I lost a little money, nothing I'll have to sell the heli's for, though! ;)
Pics coming soon!

Thanks guys!

Yes, Ralph. I HIGHLY recommend getting to Vegas. It's one of the top vacation destinations in the States and with good reason. It's always changing. It's been just 5 years since I've been there and already there were casinos and resorts I hadn't seen before and there's even more to come. There was a lot of construction going on. In another 5 years, who knows how many new resorts there will be!

Another place I'd love to visit is your home town. If cash were no object, I'd love to visit Sydney. Airfare is a bit pricey down there for me. :(

The statue guy was in the Venecian. They had a couple of them in there around the mall part. I MUST make a recommendation: If you're going to Vegas and you haven't been there before, some time in the evening get on a free shuttle to the Rio. It's off the strip so they've got shuttles that go to about 4 different casinos along the strip and all they do it take people back and forth to the Rio. One of them goes to the north entrance to Bally's. They run these shows from somewhere around 6 on in the evenings in the casino that are AMAZING!!! Scantily clad women dancing on a stage and these "floats" that are on tracks that go around the casino with more scantily clad women dancing on them and throwing beads. They also do a juggling routine at the bar in the casino with bottles and stuff and after that, they give out free shots to anyone who'll lean over the bar to take one "direct". Another bar has scantily clad women who coctail waitress and dance on tables at times as well. It's a party palace!!! A definate must see when you're looking to party.

Td, If you ever make it down here, we would be very happy to meet up with you at some stage , and show you some of the sights off the usual tourist trails etc, the domestic air fares aren't to bad there is a lot of competition these days and price's are Ok, (Old Sir Richard Branson is sticking it to the major airline's) it's the international airfares that can be expensive, however there are some good package deals to be had, if you shop around.
Well time will tell, I showed my wife your shots in your gallery, they brought back a lot of good memories for her
Cheers Ralph

Wouldn't that be nice? It's always some guy who's retired and made all of his money already. Never a guy who's married and got 2 kids working a job that will get him nowhere. That sucks, don't it?

BTW...I shopped around for airfare to Sydney.....Not good, $1600/person! OUCH! I won't be making that trip anytime soon, but thanks for the offer, Ralph. Maybe someday I'll take you up on it! :)

Hello Td,
I glad you did some homework on the airfares, at least now you have a ball park figure and when you see a good deal you will have some back ground info- :)

Hmmm $254 million USD thats a lot of cabbages  and you are right, however one would imagine a lot of immediate family and friends will benefit from that win fall,
Boy Oh boy That is a lot of money!!!

Vrey true, I didn't read a whole lot into it. Last night on the local news it says he was a WWII vet and he was planning to share it with his children. That makes me feel better about it. Now if I can only get him to adopt me! :p
Plus, I am a WWII junkie myself and after what he went through, He deserves it. My Grandfather was a in a German POW camp for some time and the stories he used to tell me. Man! He's died since and most of his health problems throughout his life were from how he was treated over there. God be with those poor souls.

The autorotation is one of the few opportunities in life where you get to experience all three at the same time.

That's an everyday feeling for me. :p

I am auto-crazy. Autos from the left, autos from the right, autos nose-in,
autos nose-in with a 180 spin at flare out floating in backwards. :)

Soon to come down inverted with a flipperroo and hopefully there will be no heli-pancakes for breakfast.
