I'm hearing some really ugly reports, of some 50 deaths associated with the ice storms, that some of you are experiencing in the USA :(

All's well on the east coast where I am. I guess they are really getting hammered in the mid-west with ice. Man, I hate that stuff. We've been lucky so far.

Cold but not unbearable on the Oregon coast, proximity to the ocean helps ;)

Stay safe for those of you that are taking the brunt of it!

The weather sure is strange. Anyways it has been in the teens here overnight for the past few nights. Here in North Eastern PA I have not seen a ground covering of snow yet! Last year we had a ground covering right before Thanksgiving.

Anyways I've been cooped up indoors the last two days with a horrible HORRIBLE gut exploding sickness.

If you want to loose weight fast, just tell someone to cough on you that has this sickness! :D

I tore the helix apart!

It is still flyable but very unbalanced without the body on it.

Maybe I will we put it back together, I'm so lazy.

BTW maybe I will edit the video my brother took a week and a half ago while he was here visiting from Kansas.

I maybe getting a better job too which pays more and will hopefully be on days. (More money for choppers and more time to fly) (interview is on friday wish me luck!) :)

We're fine here in Tucson. Colder than I prefer, but then again, I'm usually much happier during our hot summers (I don't do well with cold at all).

People sometimes ask me how I can stand to live here in the summer, and my favorite reply is, "Well, I've never had to shovel heat out of the driveway to get to work in the morning."

I may see about getting the Axe down to the rec center tomorrow afternoon and flying again.

Weather here is cold today, but it's been so mild it's unreal, this week is the first time we've put the heating on in anger, which is messed up for the north east!

My brother attended school in Phoenix. He said afterwards that California would never fall into the ocean because Phoenix sucks.

Funny; from my perspective, Phoenix is just California East. Driving through the Valley of the Sun is pretty much just like driving through Southern California; loads of overcrowded freeways occupied by people in a hurry to go nowhere.

Tucson is a bit higher in altitude, and our summer heat is usually a bit lower than Phoenix. It's still too hot for many people, but it suits me just fine. I've been out on bicycle rides in 110 degree heat.

No flooding in my area, I've only got about 2 5/8" of rain since Saturday, but it has been rainier than it's been. I'll be traveling through the flooded areas on my way to the Rotary Ringout so it should be interesting to see the damage. SW Wisconsin and SE Minnesota were the hardest hit. I was getting worried it would be cancelled due to flooding. The hotel I booked said that they had water into thier 1st floor. I told them they could give me a second floor room or higher! :p

Yup, it's still a go! We arrived tonight and set up the canopy. I even squeezed in a flight on the gasser while I was there. Awfully wet here, though. I'm scared to see what the driveway looks like after this event.
On the way here we did see some washouts and such but nothing major.

So far, I know of about half a dozen people in the San Diego area from the Heli community who have been evacuated. So far, none of the people I have spoken with have lost their homes, and everybody has a good attitude about it. The important thing is that everybody is safe. I will keep you guys updated if I hear any more. Several of my family members have also been evacuated, and despite the fact we are fine here at the RC Heli office, my mother is very worried about me

a very special thank you to all the dedicated firefighters who are battling this fire storm and risking life and limb for our (the general public's) well being.
