Good Day...

On Tuesday, I received my Walkera Dragonfly 4 Heli from www.nitroplanes.com. I thoroughly read the manual and charged the battery for 2 hours. Well, you probably figured out that I am a newbie....

After reading the manual and charging the battery, I begun to set up my Dragonfly for its initial flight. I checked the remote's DIP switches with the recommended settings from the manual, hooked up the battery to the Heli and jogged the remote to check the servos. All are working fine.
When I tried to fly the heli, the only 2 things that I got was the following:

1. A flashing red LED on the Heli....... Steady Flash not quick....

2. NO main or tail rotor rotation.....

I have read and downloaded several Walkera Dragonfly 4 manuals. I have also read several RC forum group discussions. I am thinking that I am doing something wrong or I'm not getting enough detailed information to get my heli flying. Please help me!!!! Please email me back at :

PS

How may anyone tell when the remote is in Mode 1 or Mode 2?

Not familiar with that heli, but the only thing I can come up with is the speed controller (ESC) is not sensing that the throttle stick is all the way to zero when it initializes. Also try turning the trim next to the throttle stick all the way down as well. This being a fixed pitch bird, that's all I can think of. Other than that, it could possibly be defective.

You may also have a loose crystal in the Tx or Rx. Take them out and reseat them to get a better connection. I can't really thing of anything else that tdswan hasn't already said.

To determine what mode radio you have, the mode 1 has the throttle on the right stick and mode 2 the throttle is on the left stick. The throttle stick is the one that does not spring back to center.

i had the same thing happen to me,try putting the throttle stick all the way down(the left stick)along with the vertical throttle trim, dont touch the right stick.after you are all connected, slowly start notching the throttle up and you should start to get rotation.just a tip if you havent already figured it out.

Re: Remote

Move both controls up one at a time. Which one adjusts one of the rotor servos?

If the right, you have mode 2, if the left, you have mode 1.

Re: no response.

Since the 4-in-1 has similiar connectors it may be possible that two are switched.

e.g. the motor connector.

Also check the DIP switches and make sure that they are correct for your heli... (see Walkera's Forum site).
