I'm looking to build a Squirrel - possibly Police, Rescue or Defence, and have a spare Raptor (not yet assembled)

I've seen a few fuselages more suitable for other brands, does anyone have a reliable sighting of a Raptor in a Squirrel fuse?

man i wish i could find a good looking one, most of them don't look right, i think you would find it hard to get one for a raptor 30 due to the collective setup. funkey do one that is a 30 size, you may also need to redo the question as i see they are also called a bell 407 in the states for god knows what reason. I havent seen any b2's or b3's apart from the large turbine models they all seem to be twinstars

I dont think a Raptor has much chance of going into the Funkey Squirrel. I receive this fuselage for my old shuttle and compared it with a spare Raptor 50 frame I have and I dont see how it can fit. The boom look too high for the fuse. However, this is based on a quick check. Century pretend on their website that it will fit. Maybe you want to contact them to see how this is done.
Maybe the new ERaptor with modified lower frame would fit as they can be made lower.

By the way, the Bell 407 and the squirrel are two very different beast. Squirrel are sometime called Astar or Twinstar, depending of the version (single or twin engine).
The Funkey Squirrel is indeed the Twinstar (as Century call it).

Sorry David you are right the 407 is the longranger, I got given a callender for christmas and now have noticed that all but 2 of the helicopters in it were bells.( by the way do you call them anything else over there, i just notice also they called a eurocopter 120 ec120 a eco star) I would also think you would only be able to fit the mechanics in the twinstar due to the larger room around the dog box. it would look out of scale if they were to do a single engine one i guess. The turbine models of them look really cool

Actually, the two Squirrel are the same as far as I know. Only the upper back portion is different due to the 2 engines versus the one engine version. Sadly, this is not where you need the space, ie at the front top which is apparently conflicting with the collective lever (apparently it has to be trimmed, as per Century information). Having checked again, I would say that there may be a chance to fit the Funkey fuselage over the Raptor. I checked with an frame and boom (the required length was straight...) and although the frame boom touched the fuselage boom at the rear, it seems feasible. Of course there may be slight force applied to the fuselage, but it does not seems anything to worry about. However, I did not went throug the whole process so I can not comment on the potential issues.

Personally, I will go the easy way out with my old (15+ years) Shuttle :D

Sacle is about thinkering anyway.

As for helicopter name, I have yet to see an Eurocopter with anything else than a number. However, I am no expert in helicopter designation.

yeah it is a shame these kits are not built for the raptor, Giving the price of a brand new helibody you would almost be able to get a secound hand helicopter without engine and elec for the same price. I just got myself the funkey longranger kit for my new heli and must say it is a really nice kit. you do need to bog the seams and sand it but apart from that it has been done well. They have run a few lavers of carbon in the area where it needs to be strong ie: around the skid mounts, all the seams and the windscreen. I have had problems in the past with helicopter bodies not fitting, maybe there needs to be an area where people can post what bodies they have had luck with fitting brand of mechanics. I had a caliber 30 and bought a bell 222 body for it and it did not fit due to the position of the servos having such a wide tray and sitting so high
