He All,

I ordered my t-rex with the align HH Gyro, but I do not know what to do with it (I did not receive it yet). Some people say it is bad some says works ok. I do not know whaot to do. I know that GY410 is the best but also two times expensive. Does it matter for a beginner?

Thank you all.

Well, your tail setup for any gyro is CRITICAL. Here's a rundown of how to do it. I didn't have luck with this gyro, maybe you will.

The Align HH gyro will work just fine for you. True, it's not a 401 but your not paying for a 401 either. I know a few people using the Align gyro and it works just fine. As you move up and start upgrading, you can go with a 240 or 401.

Thank you, I think I will keep the Align then because instead of paying $65 to the difference in between two I rather pay that for the DX6 that I am going to buy. (I do not have a radio yet )

What is the difference between the 240 and 410? Actually what difference makes Futaba better than Align? Is it only the electronic quality or lack of spesifications?

The biggest difference between the 240 & 401 is the remote gain. You have to manually adjust the gain (on the gyro) on the 240 and the 401 is adjusted through whatever channel you're using for the gyro.

What if I wam using Spekterum DX6 where there are no channels involved. Is it the same channels or did I understand wrong? What is the biggest advantage of remote gain?

For one, remote gain is just easier to adjust. You can land, adjust, and take off again to check it. Second, and most important, remote gain is much more accurate and consistant. When adjusting the gain mechanically on the gyro itself, it's very hard to get a very precise adjustment. With the remote gain adjusted nr the Tx, you get very precise adjustments.

As for the channels, I'm not completely sure what your asking.

The DX6 is a 6 channel radio, it just transmits on a different frequency than a standard 72Mhz radio.

I think I am more clear in some issues. Is there remute gain in the Align HH Gyro?
Another questions is, now oly things I need to be able to complete the package are Radio system, and tail servo.
If I buy the DX6 and a HiTec HS56HB Servo for tail, am I all set for a while? at least until I learn the building, setup, hovering and maybe a little forward flight? (If I do not crash) :)

Thank you

Deniz

Your setup should be fine. Although the HS50 servo's a little faster, the 56 is still fine.

Yes, the Align gyro has remote/ or manual gain. With a DX6, you will have the gain wire on the gyro on the gear channel of your receiver. Then, on the gear channel, any positive value on your travel adjust will be HH mode. Any negative value will be Rate mode. Start with the values at around +60 and -60 on your gain channel and adjust from there. It's IMPERATIVE that you follow the instructions on the trextuning link to a "T" for this gyro to work well. Also make sure your tail mechanism is set up as perfect as you can get it, I.E. the linkage moves as freely as possible with no binding in the travel AT ALL.
