What is the best Computer Heli Flight Simulator for the money

I use Great Planes RealFlight G3 w/USB InterLink Plus Mode 2. $199.99 and worth every cent. You can download a free helicopter addon pack from the Great Planes site and also eom other user contirbuted helis. The expansion pack due out this month has the MX 400 in it and there is a user contribution for the Trex 450. The ability to add a photo real panorama of your own fliying site is also a good thing....learn to fly at home but at the field at the same time :*)

So far I have crashed a thousand times so it has already paid for itself :)

I think it ends up being personal preference between two simulators. The Real Flight G3 is very popular and many people swear by it. The Reflex XTR is also very popular and last I heard, it was gaining momentum in sales. There are many people that say Reflex has become much better than G3 recently.

Like I say, it's personal preference, but these two are the top dogs.

I had RF G2 and was happy with it but got bored and sold it. I haven't used G3. When I got into helicopters I did a lot of reading about G3 vs Reflex. I bought Reflex XTR and haven't regretted it for a single second. I fly a T-Rex and the model for Reflex is ever so slightly less stable than my own heli. It's mainly because the Reflex heli is more of a 3D machine. I could get in and change the parameters to probably make it almost exactly like mine but I leave it alone. I'm very happy with it as is.
The consensus seems to be that Reflex XTR is the one to get for heli training. G3 is the one to have for planes although it supposedly does a decent job with heli work. In any case make sure you have a fairly fast computer with an EXCELLENT graphics card! Otherwise don't waste your time with either one.

Having purchased all THREE, I beg to differ.

G3 has a better heli flight & physics model than Reflex.

It's also a far more expansive program encompassing second order environmental effects, which Reflex doesn't touch.

You also need a more powerful system and graphics processor to handle G3 due to it's higher CPU load... but it's well worth it.

Of course there are those that say that Aerofly Deluxe Pro is better than both G3 and Reflex (snicker... Reflex is FAR better than AFDP, but not quite up to G3's level.).
