This one's a good one! I love when Kramer's stuck downtown at "1st & 1st"! "I must be at the nexus of the universe!" LOL :D

No, it's where Jerry's sleeping with his maid and George wants a nickname T-Bone. Kramer's got a girlfriend who moves downtown and Elaine gets a new phone number with a "new" area code.

No  I can't seem to get even + - pitch

Oh Ssssugar
Why not? mine set to 10+10- no hassle,
Thinkinggggggggggggg ;)
Hmm must be linkage length,
the HDX is a 120degree ccpm correct??

Hey
you will only get 3- in normal
and 10- in idle up

No  I can't seem to get even + - pitch

Easiest way I found to start was setting up the head so there is 0 pitch with all the mixing levers at 90 degrees to the main shaft with the swash plate about halfway in it's range of travel. Then setting the servos to where you want 0 pitch and attaching the servo arms. this seemed to give me equil travel both ways...

In simpler terms, make sure your washout and upper mixing levers are 90 degrees to the main shaft at 0 pitch, you will then have room in the travel of the mixing arms in both a positive and negative pitch range.

When I set my xl cde up by the book my mixing levers did not turn out at a 90 degree angle at 0 degrees and I had issues also.

If that's what you set for normal and idle up, it's all settings in the transmitter :)

With an appropriatly settable transmitter you could set 10 -10 or more in all modes.

yep arms are at 90 to the main shaft with throttle at mid position.
Sub trims are set(slightly) to have the swash level. mix arms are flat with the flybar cage
Mains are at 0 pitch for mid throttle, throttle and pitch curves are linear(IE flat)
I'm wondering if, because I have the servo arms off center, I'm getting reduced throw on the neg pitch? should not be by so much as the arms are not long enough to have that effect?
Think I'll tear it down and start from scratch on the head, I'll open a new thread as it's hardly a new year greeting, lol

If the servo arms aren't at 90degrees or close to it then yes one direction will move the swash plate less.

Then it's something I will need to live with, as the design won't allow the arms to be at 90o

If that's the case, you need to use a shorter arm, or shorter hole in the arm and cut the excess off. What will happen is you won't get a nice linear movement through the pitch range and your geometry in your cyclic movemets will suffer as well. This is also a problem on the T-Rex as well with the horns hitting. Those horns need to be centered and cut to length. Your setup will suffer otherwise and you won't have a very nice flying heli.

You won't have the problem after you have the pitch curve set up. The servos don't travel the full 60 degrees once it's ready to fly.

I'll take some pictures later to show, but:
Can't use a shorter arm, as it will hit the frame metal work.
I need to have a think about this, it may be time to break out the dremmel

Crickeys  There is something weird going on there, my cyclic horn on the "SE" could have binded with the main gear, as stated in the setup text so I just cut the excess off, however this situation was only a problem while flying the heli- in extreme 3D maneuvers which is not likely to happen for a long time LOL :)
Vapo- I think you have to go back to the drawing board and start again and double check everything, I realize you have done this, but there must be something out of alignment.
Good luck with it
Cheers Ralph
