Just got back from the field. This was the first time I had a chance to fly at a real big field.

I was doing some figure 8's and getting up some good speed since I finally had the room to do so.

After the first tank of flying around I said what the heck, I had been in the sim last night practicing inverted and nose-in hovering.

I could feel the nerves and I was about half way over in my first attempt and I decided to abort. I wasn't adding the negative pitch soon enough

I landed and gathered my nerves and went up for another go. This time it was smooth as silk (just like on the sim) and I hovered for a few seconds, flipped it back over so that it was now nose-in, hovered a few more seconds and spun around. After that I felt my nerves had enough for now :) - besides my hands were starting to get cold (and slow).

I did do a little more nose-in hovering after that. Its amazing how much the simulator helped with this stuff.

Just thought I'd share while I'm still on a little high.

Congrats! I remember the first time I tried inverted. I was too scared to loop it! I would run it up the loop, then get about 10 degrees or so inverted and push forward and bail! Strangely enough, I felt better rolling it inverted than looping it. I did my first few rolls, then went for the loop. I was on such a high that I didn't want to land!
It was still quite a while before I held it inverted. At the time, I had no sim to help with practice. It was all real-life training. If only I'd had a sim from the start, how far along would I be now???

Congrats :D

I haven't even tried to fly inverted yet. I am in the same boat as you, I do not have alot of room to fly in. The soccer field is too small. I might join a club next year so I have more room to fly in.

I guess the only inverted I will be doing is on the simm until then. :p

Nice going for the first time. Now the rest is a cake-walk. :)
