So I just got this Blade CP. You know the one that says its not for beginners. Yeah I see Why. I just want to know is it normal to have to use alot of stick to control the bird in a hover. I can understand a lil small movements. But my plane just takes off to the right and spins. I understand the concept about trim and all that. I mean Im only trying to hover maybe a foot off at that. But Dagum, I respect this hobby and will bow to the masters to teach me.

You've chosen a tough bird to hover. Yes, the Blade does have a tendancy to take a lot of stick to hover using the stock radio. I know guys who have learned on 'em, I personally learned on a Raptor 50 and tried one of my friend's blades out. Didn't care for it much, but all of 'em fly different. One of the main reasons is a sloppy setup on the swashplate and not being able to set your throws on the radio. I have a friend who upgraded his to a metal swash and it's a lot tighter, but it's not neccesary. Before he changed the swash, he had that thing hovering in a square foot (using and Optic 6 Radio). I don't own a Blade, so I could be wrong about the radio throws not being adjustable, but I've flown one... They're a handfull.

Thanks for the reply. I think I should invest in a pitch gauge. I took some nasty blows and I dont want to be grounded because of a crapy set-up or bent bars/rods. Thanks agian. (If I should upgrade a radio, for the blade and my next bird, what do you think is a perfect beginner yet able to advance radio.)
The Blade CP was my first heli. I have been where you are..
Investing in a pitch gauge will help.
Be sure your blades are tracking properly.
i had to go thru mine once I got it and re-center all the servo horn locations to where my trim tabs on the radio were in the middle with a good hover, indoors.
The adjustment of your gain on your 4-1 and your mixing pot make a HUGE difference. After some fiddling with mine I got my blade to ALMOST no hand hover. So it can be done with the Blade as it comes out of the box. Just remember the heli si going to try and spin the opposite directions of the main rotor blades AND it will lean to the left, they all do.. I hope this helps. Good luck and dont give up!
One more thing.. Are you using the training gear? If not then I would invest in it.
