I use the TJ RevMax rpm limiter. No complaints here.

prolly should start another thread, but why would you want or need a rev limiter? can you not just set pre "set points" for travel on the Xmitter?

The set points, or throttle curves usually work well. For someone doing hard 3D, there's a lot of meneuvers that may overload or underload the blades which will cause either an underspeed or overspeed respectively. The governor helps to correct this by sensing the condition and adjusting the throttle to compensate and maintaining as constant of a headspeed as possible.
Some pilots will also do away with throttle curves in their idle-ups altogether and set them to 100% across the board and let the governor do the work of controlling the throttle, but you still should set up one of your throttle curves in a flight mode just in case the governor decides to fail. Others will set the throttle curves close to or slightly higher than where the governor will generally keep the throttle also as a safety measure in case of failure.
To answer the first question, I've got a GV-1 on my gasser, but haven't experimented with it enough to give an opinion on it yet.

I went through all my preset throttle curves days. The RevMax limits rpm so there's no over-revving of the engine. The headspeed remains very consistent and that's what is needed for 3-d and aerobatic flite. I do have preset throttle curves as well, but when flipped into idle-up, the RevMax is on. My RevMax is set to limit at 18,000 rpm, that brings my head speed to 1750 rpm.

Thank you for the replies, I thinking of which one is easier to program? and which one let you change head speed with the remote with out reprograming?
thank you

I like the multi-gov also because the governor has a programming display panel that you use for every multi-gov you own. I do not like counting led flashes to program my govenors.

The Multi-Gov is definately the easiest to program and the features surpass most other governors on the market. It allows you to run either gov mode or limiter mode and can be set differently for all flight modes. A big plus for beginners, no tach needed.

Is there a single best governor on the market?
