nothing but admiration for the flying skills, but that is the dumbest thing I've ever seen.
How about we try night time chain saw juggling?

there is nothing more dangerous about night flying than during the day, Nir Meiri is one hell of a good pilot, and he is actually quite safe. He among one of the best new pilots I have seen, and I was sitting right next to him when he flew that flight in the video. I competed myself in the same competion, but I flew a little T-REX 450 and was not very competitive. I can understand your concern, but what you see in that video is really no more dangerous or very different than most any flight you would see an expert level pilot do on any given day (or night). In fact it could be said that the skill level was so high among the top level pilots in that competition that it was safer to be around than people with less skill ( or it could be that the highly skilled pilots pushed the envelope hard enough to push the limits of safety, it depends how you look at it)

by the way- Nir's engine was not running well that whole weekend, which isn't very surprising because his YS (known to be tempermental becasue of altitude and humidity changes) engine was tuned for the Isreali desert, and the humid Indiana weather presented a tuning challenge they never mastered the whole weekend.

Really now, if you think about it. You're less likely to lose orientation at nite if your heli is properly lit, as long as you have some piloting skills. Anyway, my C~30 is having an engine mod , also I have mscomposite 550 nite blades and need to get the tube lighting to finish up the NiteCaliber. These blades were last years x-mas present and I've flown them twice at dusk with no lites on the boom or skids. The blades look awesome when lit, but you definitely need the rest of the heli lit up as well.

which is why I said his skills were great? but you have less awareness of whats going on around you,....when you can't see it,lol
